A tip I picked up on recently to do with the way the human eye looks at a photo.
Most people scan a picture left to right, much in the way that most people read a book.
Take a look at the picture below:

      

The first thing that strikes most people about the picture is the squirrel's tail. Now take a look at this one:



Now the face is more predominant.

It's down to the individual, but simply flipping a photo can turn a poor picture into a good one!
